Yet, in "Special Correspondents," Gervais' semi-satire about creating a news sensation where there is none, none of them cause the stir needed to make the film stand out. Mildy amusing, moderately thoughtful, and mostly forgettable, the work works to say something. It just gets too caught up in moving in routine directions to rate as anything more than watchable.
