Biografie. Emilie Benes studeerde aan Wellesley College in Massachusetts. Kort na haar studie trouwde ze met Zbigniew Brzeziński, een politicoloog en de later nationaal veiligheidsadviseur van president Jimmy Carter. Ze kreeg drie kinderen.
