There are lots of small details which make a pretty unlikely plot line seem quite believable. The movie has a somewhat different, more authentic look & feel than most 50s westerns. I usually don't really care for Ray Milland but he's more than adequate in this movie. Mary Murphy is also fine although her fake hair colour is a distraction ...
