14. Mai 2022 · Prince Arthur was born on 1 May 1850. His full name was Arthur William Patrick Albert. He was born to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. He was the seventh child of the couple and the third son of his mother. In 1874 he was declared a royal duke and became the first Duke of Connaught and Strathearn and the Earl of Sussex.

24. Feb. 2023 · Alastair was the son of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, and thus was born into a life of privilege and prestige. However, his father's service in World War I took a toll on the family, and Alastair's mother, Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia, died of influenza in 1917. This was a devastating blow to Alastair, who was only seven years old at the time.
