Other members of the group were, at various points, her sister Alice Mae Spielvogel, sister-in-law Carol Buschmann, as well as Lynn Evans, Margie Needham, Jinny Osborn, Nancy Overton, and Dorothy Schwartz.

Janet Ertel war ein Gründungsmitglied der "The Chordettes". Im Jahr 1954 heiratete sie Archie Bleyer. Ihre Tochter Jacqueline ("Jackie", geb. 1940, Vater John Ertel) heiratete Phil Everly von The Everly Brothers. Sie war bis zur Auflösung der Chordettes als Sängerin dabei. Jinny Osborn was a student at Shimer College in the late Academy period, graduating from the Academy class in 1945.
