The Boat Race 2022 was a side-by-side rowing race which took place on 3 April 2022. Held annually, The Boat Race is contested between crews from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge , usually along a 4.2-mile (6.8 km) tidal stretch of the River Thames , known as the Tideway, in south-west London.

The Women’s Boat Race. Founded in 1927 but only raced intermittently until the mid-1960’s, the first Women’s Boat Race was held on the Isis in Oxford. The first few races were not decided in a side-by-side contest but were judged on “time and style”; the two crews were not allowed on the river at the same time!

A gold medallist in both the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 women’s coxed eight, the USA’s Caryn Davies made history in 2015 when she was part of the winning Oxford crew in the first-ever women’s boat race to be competed on the Tideway, the same portion of the River Thames where the men’s race is held.
