   South Pacific isn't one of my favourite Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals and this made-for-TV adaptation's unexceptional execution doesn't alleviate the source material from feeling very dated. Glenn Close was fine as Nellie, with her interpretation of the character more desperate than naive, and her big number "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy" is probably the best performance of the film.
