While watching Gilligan's Island as an adult, I wonder if there's an actual deeper story behind the goings-on of the castaways stuck on the island. On a superficial level, the characters are well-fed and healthy. They get on wacky misadventures every week, and nobody gets injured or dies. Everything always stays the same.
