  1. ♦ Robert Pike Letter to Judge Jonathan Corwin. On August 9, 1692, Robert Pike, the Massachusetts Bay councilor and Salisbury magistrate, wrote a personal letter to Judge Corwin expressing his concerns with the admission of spectral evidence in the trials.

Jan. 2024 · Jonathan Corwin, age 51- a wealthy merchant and brother-in-law to John Hathorne, he oversaw the proceedings prior to the establishment of the Court of Oyer and Terminer and would replace Nathaniel Saltonstall on the court after his resignation. Would later be appointed as an associate justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court of Judicature, the highest court of the Province of Massachusetts Bay.

Okt. 2021 · The trunk belonged to Jonathan Corwin (1640–1718), one of the magistrates involved in the 1692 trials; Corwin resided at the building in Salem now known as the Witch House (the only surviving structure with direct ties to the trials).
