Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar Bahadur or Jaya Chamarajendra Wodeyar was the 25th and the last Maharaja of the princely state of Mysore. He was the only son of Yuvaraja Kanteerava Narasimharaja Wodeyar. He ascended the throne after the demise of his uncle, Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar.

  2. Krishnaraja Wadiyar III died on 27 March 1868, and Chamarajendra Wadiyar X ascended the throne at the royal palace, Mysore, on 23 September 1868. However, since 1831, the Kingdom of Mysore had been under the direct administration of the Raj via Mysore Commission which had earlier deposed Krishnaraja Wodeyar III on allegations of misrule.

It is just 5 mins drive from the zoo and around 10 mins from the main palace. The club is neat with huge rooms. The open air restaurant is well laid out. Food is passable.

  7. Famous Carnatic Composers - JW. Jayacamaraaja WODeyaar - Born July 18th, 1919 in Mysore to Narasimharaja Wodeya and Semba Seluvajammakka, he was the last ruler of Mysore State. His family were great patrons of Carnatic Music. He composed about ninety pieces with the mudra Srividya and created the ragam Jayasamvardini.
