23. März 2015 · Few succeeded like Jackie Trent – a singer and songwriter who put her soul into her music. It will play on. It will play on. Though much of Jackie's solo music is out-of-print on CD, Zone Records' reissue of 1975's Can't Give It Up is still available as of this writing, and Cherry Red's reissue of 1965's The Magic of Jackie Trent is selling at reasonable prices.
Hatch was born in Pinner, Middlesex. Encouraged by his musical abilities, his mother – also a pianist – enrolled him in the London Choir School in Wansunt Road, Bexley, Kent when he was 10. Instead of continuing at the Royal Academy of Music, he left school in 1955 and found a job with Robert Mellin Music in London's Tin Pan Alley.
