They found success with their debut single “I Can’t Keep From Crying” and went on to record several other hits, including “Let Love Come Between Us” and “Shake a Tail Feather.”

  7. Soul duo formed in 1965 by cousins James Purify and Bobby Purify (2) (real name Robert Lee Dickey). Robert adopted his cousins name for the duo. Robert retired from the music business for health reasons in 1969 and was replaced by Ben Moore (2) who adopted the stage name Bobby Purify. The duo continued to use the 'James & Bobby Purify' name.
