Auch Paternos Familie beklagte, „viele Szenen und Dialoge haben nichts mit der Realität gemeinsam“. Ein größeres Problem ist jedoch, dass der Film nicht gut inszeniert ist. Dass eine Computertomografie von Paterno den Rahmen bildet, ist ein zu plumpes Bild, ihn durchleuchten zu wollen. Und dass die missbrauchten Kinder kaum eine Rolle spielen, ist unverzeihlich.
No really, this film totally sucked and it provided no additional insight into what Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno did or didn't do to address child predator Jerry Sandusky, who was Paterno's long-time defensive coordinator. I can't recall one scene in the film where Paterno even confronted Jerry Sandusky about his diddling ways, or where the two characters were even in the same room.
fact: Paterno had personally accepted the report regarding the sexual abuse in 2001 and passed it to his bosses, but they f*king buried it off together until the scandal publicly emerged ELEVEN YEARS LATER!
