Der Titelsong „Stand Up And Fight“ beginnt im schweren Midtempo, bis der Warlord nach einer halben Minute einen Erzählteil einschiebt. Das Stück bietet reichlich Bombast im Refrain, aber nach dem ersten Höreindruck noch nicht das erwartete Hitpotential.

Turisas is not a typical prog metal band and this album may be better described as a symphonic metal release with a death metal edge. But the music is written and arranged with maximal care and although most of the songs are heavily orchestrated and supported with an aggressive metal section of loud drums and guitars, there is a great diversity and attention to details in each of the songs.

Battle Metal" is a remake of "The Heart of Turisas" from the eponymous 2001 demo with subdued growling. "The Land of Hope and Glory" delves into the themes of nostalgia and homecoming, combining folky sounds with a bombastic chorus. "The Messenger", one of the band's oldest songs, explores the topics of fate and religion.
