The Kingdom of Italy had territorial ambitions against the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Order of Saint George of the Reunion. The Order of Saint George of the Reunion is an order of knighthood of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. It was established to replace the Royal Order of the Two-Sicilies . It was created on 1 January 1819 by Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies to reward military valor and merit.
Some minor states in Central and Northern Italy, such as Parma and Mantua, passed to the Austrian monarchy. During the Kingdom of Italy, regions were mere statistical districts of the central state. Under the Republic, they were granted a measure of political autonomy by the 1948 Italian Constitution . The original draft list comprised the Salento region (which was eventually included in Apulia ); Friuli and Venezia Giulia were separate regions, and Basilicata was named Lucania .
