17. Okt. 2022 · When applying for a student residence permit, applicants who have received an offer of admission must document their financial ability to cover living expenses in Norway. This comes in addition to the tuition fees. The current amount required by The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) is NOK 151 690 per year (adjusted yearly).
To find out if you may be nominated as a bilateral student to the University of Oslo (UiO), you must contact the international office at your home institution. You have to apply through your home university. Local procedures and deadlines will vary according to each institution. All students must have a good command of English.
Recognition procedure for applicants without verifiable documentation. If you have completed education from Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Yemen, Liberia, Libya, Sierra Leone or Somalia, you must apply for recognition of your education from HK-dir before you can apply for admission to the University of Oslo.

Some of the study programmes at the Faculty of Medicine give students from our partner institutions the opportunity to spend a period of their studies in Oslo.
A committee from the University of Oslo elect the students, based on transcript of records, motivation letter, and CV. There are maximum 6 study places for each university in the Circle U. Alliance. The applicants receive an information letter in April/May by way of the e-mail they listed in their application.
