El Salvador (deutsche Aussprache [ɛl zalvaˈdoːɐ̯ ], spanische Aussprache [el salβaˈðoɾ ]; spanisch „der Erlöser“, „der Heiland“) ist ein Staat in Mittelamerika. Er grenzt im Nordwesten an Guatemala, im Nordosten an Honduras und im Süden an den Pazifischen Ozean.
