4. Juni 2017 · Gina Fratini has died aged 85. She had been one of the best-known names in the UK eveningwear industry before closing her business in 1989 and made dresses for celebrities including Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Diana.
Gina Fratini designed for films and for the stage before starting her label in 1964. She was known for her romantic designs, incorporating ruffles, laces and lavish embroideries, especially in her wedding dresses. In 1971, Fratini’s fame grew when one of her designs was chosen by Princess Anne for her official twenty-first birthday portrait.
