The Long Ryders, founders of alt-country in the 1980s, saddle up for the first time in thirty years with their biggest and best slice of Americana yet, the aptly named Psychedelic Country Soul. 6. Nov. 2020 · The Long Ryders founded alt-country with their 1984 album, Native Sons, and helped codify and popularise Americana throughout their career. Crossing Byrds/Buffalo Springfield electric guitars and harmonies with a Sex Pistols/Ramones rhythm section was their idea and their legacy. Their signature songs Looking For Lewis And Clark and I Had A Dream have never left the airwaves.
