   Brian Poole and the nucleus of the original Tremeloes all went to Park Modern Secondary School in Barking Essex, where they started the band in early 1958. In 1960 they were signed to Decca Records and were used as a vocal backing band for many top recording artistes until they had their first hit,Twist & Shout, which went to No. 3 in the charts.
