The Board of Directors for Goddard College have made the difficult decision to close the college at the end of the 2024 Spring term. Current Goddard students will have the opportunity to complete their degrees at the same tuition rate through a teach-out with like-minded institution, Prescott College.

10. Apr. 2024 · Dive Brief: Faced with pending insolvency, Goddard College will close permanently at the end of its current semester, the institution announced Tuesday. The college has struck a teach-out agreement with Arizona-based Prescott College so students can finish their degrees and “continue Goddard’s legacy of progressive education and experimental pedagogy,” it said in the announcement.

A group of stakeholders from Goddard College–including leadership from the faculty union, staff union, alumni, and student body–have joined forces to transform the college into a cooperatively run institution. We intend to renew Goddard’s place in higher education as an innovative college in progressive education for the 21st century.
