Despite his untimely and mysterious death in 1964, just when he was beginning to evolve, his music remains as fresh & alive as ever today. These tracks may lack the genius & true mastery of his best R&B albums like Night Beat & Rhythm And The Blues, but his unforgettable voice carries even mediocre material way beyond itself.
