Shelley Thompson is a Canadian actress best known for her character Barbara Lahey on the hit Canadian mockumentary program Trailer Park Boys. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Shelley trained at RADA in London, and worked for many years in the UK.

It is here that her family discovers that she is transgender. The family is reeling but on her small town’s family farm, will they come to terms with the realisation of who their daughter is? More importantly, will the town around her?
Thompson is an ACTRA/Gemini winner for her roles in Trailer Park Boys and feature films SPLINTERS (Thom Fitzgerald) and The Child Remains (Michael Melski). Presently: Working on feature BOUQUET, (a finalist in the 2022 TIFF Screenwriters award); EVERYBODY HATES RANDY an ensemble comedy; and her second novel, GALILEE JUMP.
