1. Dez. 1979 · Zeppo Marx, the surviving member of the Marx Brothers comedy team who left the quartet in 1934 for other businesses, died yesterday at Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Springs, Calif.
Zeppo died on November 30, 1979, from cancer. When Milton "Gummo" Marx left the troupe of brothers early in their vaudeville days to become a manufacturer, Zeppo, the youngest of the five Marx Brothers, joined the troupe as the new Marx Brother. Zeppo was the least zany of the quartet and would play the straight man to the other brothers.

Zeppo received three U.S. patents. On March 18, 1952, he received the patent #2,590,026, for a Vapor Delivery Pad for Distributing Moist Heat. He also received two patents, #3,426,747, patented on February 11, 1969, and #3,473,526, patented on October 21, 1969, as a co-inventor. Both of these patents pertained to cardiac pulse monitoring.
1. Juli 2021 · He married and divorced twice. He outlived all of his brothers. According to the Los Angeles Times, he died of lung cancer in 1979, age 78. While the three main Marx Brothers continued to perform until well after World War II, the younger two, Zeppo in particular, pursued other interests.
