Esa-Pekka Salonen is a Finnish composer and conductor. He was the music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, is composer in residence at the New York Philharmonic, is the principal conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra, and is the founder and artistic director of the Baltic Sea Festival.

He was the music director of the San Francisco Symphony and conductor laureate of the Los Angeles Philharmonic , Philharmonia Orchestra in London and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra .
