'Loser Takes All' is a minor addition to that fifties genre of film, like 'Summertime' and 'To Catch a Thief', that gave cinemagoers a glimpse of the exotic delights of the Continent before european travel became affordable to all. Of course, it's nothing more than a bit of romantic fluff but it has charm and shows a lost Monte Carlo before it became largely ruined by greed and over-development.
