   A strong film about the effect of slavery on black identity surprisingly from 1936. Of course, to get made Paul Robeson had to go to England and Hammer Films. Robeson’s voice is just beautiful and, luckily, we get a lot of him singing. It flags a little when he gets to his origins people but overall a worthy film. Review by Aardsy ★★★.
