Pastiche is an apt word to describe The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello, but passion project seems equally apt. This is an immensely enjoyable film, with hints of Tim Burton's early animation work. The plot revolves around Jasper Morello, a navigator who has gained a reprieve after a past mistake and his explorations into unknown territory which lead to a twisted discovery, which while may prove to be his town's salvation, may come at the cost of his own soul.

The Jasper Morello website lists the film as 'the first voyage’ in a trilogy based on the adventures of the aerial navigator. The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello was produced by Anthony Lucas’s company, 3-D Films, with production funding from Film Victoria and finance from the Australian Film Commission and SBS Independent.
