Son of Lassie made the bold decision to set itself during World War II, which means the majority if the film is Laddie running around a Nazi-infested Norway trying to find his owner, who was shot down around there. The kid-friendly antics feel a bit uneasy next to the more violent Nazi scenes (characters do get shot onscreen!), but the film is overall well-intentioned.
