Tokyo Sonata (トウキョウソナタ, Tōkyō Sonata) is a 2008 Japanese psychological drama film directed and co-written by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. It stars Teruyuki Kagawa, Yū Koyanagi and Kai Inowaki as the four members of an emotionally distant middle-class family who all individually come to question their life choices and futures.

Beim Filmfestival in Cannes erhielt er zweimal den Prix Un Certain Regard: 2008 für TOKYO SONATA (NC ’16) und 2015 für JOURNEY TO THE SHORE (NC ’16). Seit 2005 unterrichtet er an der Tokyo University of the Arts in Yokohama. 2016 wurde er beim Nippon Connection Filmfestival mit dem NIPPON HONOR AWARD ausgezeichnet.
