  1. Visiting and membership. You're welcome to visit most of our libraries and use the resources within the library. Check the access arrangements to each library on our Locations and opening hours page. If you wish to borrow books you'll need to join and become a library member. We are currently offering the following memberships: Personal. Alumni.

  6. The Bute Library is situated on the first floor of the Bute Building on King Edward VII Avenue. North corridor. Geography and Planning books and journals. South corridor. Social Sciences books including criminology, education, social work and sociology. Journalism and Media Studies books (partial collection)

  7. The library is open to all Monday to Friday 08:30-21:30, Saturday 10:00-17:30 and Sunday 10:00-21:30. A valid Cardiff University ID card is required for access outside these hours. An accessible entrance for assisted entry to the building is located on the west side of the building at lower ground floor level.
