Vor 6 Tagen · “Muskrat Ramble” was written by trombonist Kid Ory in 1926 and first recorded that same year, on February 26, by Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five. However, like so many other early recordings, the origins of “Muskrat Ramble” are quite mysterious.
18. Juni 2024 · In 1919, Ory moved to Los Angeles, forming the Creole Orchestra and becoming the first Black band from New Orleans to record. His 1922 recordings of "Ory's Creole Trombone" and "Society Blues" marked a historic milestone as the first jazz recordings made on the West Coast by an African American band.
