Vor einem Tag · Musica americana fino al midollo, almeno in questa prima parte della carriera declina un po’ i temi del folk, del gospel e del blues, ma se vi aggiungo che uno dei brani è di Burt Bacharach e in un altro duetta col mitico pianista jazz Earl Hines, capite che la cosa migliore è ascoltarlo. Andremo avanti a seguirlo, ma Paradise and lunch, il suo quarto album, resta una delle sue cose migliori.
