Vor 2 Tagen · では、ロウルズとはどんなジャズプレイヤーなのか。 Wikipediaで調べると、30枚以上の自分名義のアルバムを出している。 また、1976年版スイングジャーナル『世界ジャズ人名辞典』によると、独学でピアノを習得してプロの道へ入ったが、その後、2度の従軍生活があったらしい。 そういう経歴もあってだろう、日本では無名に近い。 1928年8月19日生まれで、1996年5月28日に77歳で他界している。 タイトルからはズート・シムズとロウルズとの初共演と思えてしまうが、74年4月録音のアルバムZoot Sims' Partyが最初である。 それから本作まではアルバムでの共演がなかったので、3年半振りのMeetsということなのだろう。
