Juni 2024 · The third Duke of Argyll, as Lord Ilay became in 1743, occupied Argyll House until his death without legitimate issue in 1761, when both the title and the house passed to his cousin, John Campbell, the fourth Duke. The house subsequently passed to the fifth Duke, who died in 1806.
