Set in a futuristic 2019, the film starred Harrison Ford as a cop, Rick Deckard, who hunts down advanced replicants led by Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer).
And both arguably lost money initially. But the word of mouth for Blade Runner 2049 remains strong and the interest is there. Other flops have gotten sequels made so this wouldn’t be the first. And yes we are getting a Blade Runner 2099 series but that jumps so far in time we wouldn’t really get a proper resolution to these characters.
