  2. The next album I'd recommend is "Transverse City". It's closer sonically to the albums you like than it is to his earlier sound, and "Splendid Isolation" is an all-time Warren Zevon song. Just listen to them all, there are not as many albums from Zevon as there should be.

The song was originally performed by Warren Zevon, then by Linda Ronstadt, and Terri Clark’s version was a big 90’s Country hit. The new version with Lainey Wilson adding her strong, twangy vocals is pretty dang awesome: Video unavailable.
