Neben zahllosen Soloeinspielungen wirkte er auch an der Seite von Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth und bei Whitesnake sowie im Spielfilm Crossroads von 1986, in dem nur er den Teufel selbst glaubhaft verkörpern konnte.
