  1. So as you mentioned Kirk Douglas had the rights to One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and also played the role of McMurphy (in the movie played by Nicholson) in a theatrical version of the play. Interestingly, Gene Wilder (!) was also in the play with Douglas and if you google around, you can find photos from the stage play with Douglas and Wilder.
