Biografie. Im Alter von zehn Jahren begann Alden Gitarre zu lernen und trat schon als Teenager in Los Angeles öffentlich auf. Dort freundete er sich auch mit dem Posaunisten Dan Barrett an und arbeitete 1979 mit Red Norvo. 1982 zog er dann gemeinsam mit Barrett nach New York City, wo sie ein gemeinsames Quintett (u. a. mit Chuck Wilson) bildeten.

1. März 2017 · Howard Alden made his first trip to the East Coast in the summer of 1979 to play in a trio led by Red Norvo at Resorts International in Atlantic City and continued to play with the legendary vibraphonist frequently for several years.
