Der britische Infanteriepanzer Mark II, gemeinhin als Matilda II (A12) bekannt, war ein wichtiger britischer Panzer im Zweiten Weltkrieg. Er war stark gepanzert, mit einer bis zu 78 mm dicken Frontpanzerung, was ihn relativ unempfindlich gegen die Panzerabwehrwaffen der ersten Kriegsjahre machte.
Bei ihrem Vormarsch 1940 in Westen stieß die Wehrmacht auf den britischen Infanteriepanzer Mark II Matilda. Kaum eine Waffe konnte die Panzerung dieser Ungetüme durchschlagen.

Zu den bekanntesten britischen Panzern des 2.WK. gehört der Matilda 2. Der Panzer ist eigentlich recht interessant und war zu seiner Zeit ein durchaus brauchbarer Kampfpanzer.
