Maurice Duplay (* 23. Dezember 1736 in Saint-Didier-La Séauve (heutiges Département Haute-Loire ); † 30. Juni 1820 in Paris) war ein Tischler und französischer Revolutionär, der aber insbesondere dadurch bekannt wurde, dass Robespierre bei ihm zur Untermiete wohnte.

From 1791 to his death in 1794, Maximilien Robespierre lived here, in the home of the carpenter Maurice Duplay (see below). In proximity to the Assembly, Robespierre found refuge here after the massacre on the Champ-de-Mars on July 17, 1791. He then stayed, protected by the builder’s family.

After the revolution of 1830, a group of admirers tried to locate the body. But though they dug and dug, no one was there.
