David Bertram Ogilvy Freeman-Mitford, 2nd Baron Redesdale, JP (13 March 1878 – 17 March 1958) was a British peer, soldier, and landowner. He was the father of the Mitford sisters, in whose various novels and memoirs he is depicted.
He was succeeded by his second but eldest surviving son, David Freeman-Mitford, 2nd Baron Redesdale, who is chiefly remembered as the father of the famous Mitford sisters. He was also a member of the Right Club , founded by Archibald Maule Ramsay .

Mitford war eines von sieben Kindern des David Bertram Ogilvy Freeman-Mitford, 2. Baron Redesdale (1878–1958), und seiner Ehefrau Sydney Bowles (1880–1963). Sie war darüber hinaus eine Cousine von Clementine Churchill, der Ehefrau von Winston Churchill.
The sisters and their brother Thomas were the children of David Freeman-Mitford, 2nd Baron Redesdale, and his wife Sydney, the daughter of Thomas Bowles. To their children, they were known as "Farve" and "Muv", respectively. David and Sydney married in 1904.
Am 22. Juli 1902 wurde der Titel in zweiter Verleihung für Algernon Freeman-Mitford neu geschaffen. Dieser war ein Großneffe des verstorbenen Earls, war lange im diplomatischen Dienst gewesen und hatte dann in der königlichen Bauverwaltung an verantwortlicher Stelle gearbeitet. Heutiger Titelinhaber ist dessen Urenkel Rupert Mitford als 6.
