Andrew John Connell (born 26 July 1961) is an English musician and composer. Along with Corinne Drewery, he is part of the duo that makes up Swing Out Sister. Born in Manchester, England, Connell played in the Manchester post-punk band The Immediates, before joining new wave funk pioneers, A Certain Ratio.
Although Swing Out Sister are currently a duo, they began as a trio in the UK. The group was formed by Andy Connell (keyboards) and Martin Jackson (drums); they were later joined by Corinne Drewery (vocals).

25. Sept. 2018 · Andy Connell was tinkering around with a tune during one recording session, when Drewery was reminded of her extemporaneous childhood composition. “I started singing that over it. I said: ‘I’ve just had a weird recall in my mind. The first few notes are the exact same as a tune I sang when I didn’t want to go to school aged five’.

11. Sept. 2012 · By Paul Sinclair. 18. Swing Out Sister ‘s classic 1987 debut, It’s Better To Travel, was reissued this summer as a deluxe 2CD package. I spoke to the band – Andy Connell and Corinne Drewery – in late June about the reissue, and some of that interview was published as an in-their-own words track-by-track guide to the album in July.
