Vertikal is the sixth studio album by Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna and is also the band's first studio album since Eternal Kingdom (2008). The album was released in Europe on January 25, 2013 through Indie Recordings, and in the US on January 29, 2013 on CD through Density Records and on vinyl through Back on Black. [2]
25. Jan. 2023 · Jacob Five Eye Tea Vertikal was one of the first albums I heard when I first started listening to post-metal, and it's still my favorite Cult of Luna album to date. It's rich with texture, philosophical lyrics and a bittersweet, bleak atmosphere.

Sie veränderen ihren Sound mit der notwendigen Radikalität und bleiben dabei in der Wirkung, die sie damit entfalten, doch immer sie selbst.
CULT OF LUNA zeigen, wie wunderbar Kontraste harmonieren können, wie rasant und doch fließend die Stimmung immer wieder umschlagen kann. Wie finstere, plättende Gitarrenwände sich unbeugsam auftürmen und dann beinahe sanft in einem zerbrechlichen melodischen Part münden, dessen Intensität von innen heraus zerfrisst.
