On October 5th, 1919, in a limestone country house in Council Grove in the Flint Hills of Kansas, Gerald Roberts became the third child of a rodeo-destined family. There would be 6 children in all - four boys and two girls:

Gerald Roberts. 1919 - 2004. Gerald Roberts grew up in Strong City, Kansas, surrounded by horses, cattle and wide open pastures. Gerald and his siblings rode wild horses to school to break them and spent their childhood on any wild animal they could get their hands on.
Gerald Roberts was a two-time world champion all-around cowboy and a stunt double for Hollywood actors. He also helped start the Flinthills Rodeo in Strong City, Kansas and brought rodeo to the Olympics.

Four years later, Roberts was riding bucking horses and bulls in the Cowboys Turtle Association. Roberts competed in all three roughstock events.
Gerald Roberts was a three-time champion bull-rider and all-around cowboy who won titles in the U.S. and Canada. He was born in Kansas in 1920 and died in 2004.
