in all fairness, i've only heard the first half of this album. however, what i heard was excellent. at first "glances" and listens, the initial sound is fairly pure, modern bluegrass. however, the band uses amazing dynamics and subtlety, seamlessly blending their influences into their music. in a single song they can go from bluegrass to jazz to dixieland, and then back to bluegrass.
