Vinny Golia (born March 1, 1946) is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist specializing in woodwind instruments. He performs in the genres of contemporary music, jazz, free jazz, and free improvisation. [1] Career. As a composer, Golia fuses the rich heritage of jazz, contemporary classical music and world music.
He formed a relationship with multi-instrumentalist Vinny Golia, with whom he toured North America and Europe throughout the 1980s. Filiano made his jazz album debut in 1985, appearing on recordings by Golia and Arni Cheatham. In the second half of the decade, he recorded with Richard Grossman, Steve Adams [8] and Kim Richmond.
Some of the selections have guests who add to the atmosphere (including multireedist Vinny Golia, guitarist Nels Cline and bassist Ken Filiano) but this is very much Dutz's showcase.
