Johnny Burke (April 28, 1940 – August 21, 2017) was a Canadian country singer who recorded a series of singles with Acclaim Records in the 1980s. [1] [2] He released his debut single in 1966, and his 1967 single "I Can't Even Do Wrong Right" reached number-one on the RPM Country Tracks chart.

Johnny Burke was inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Canadian Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2012. Sadly, Johnny Burke passed away September 21, 2017, in Cobourg, Ontario, following a lengthy battle with esophagus cancer.

John Francis Burke (October 3, 1908 – February 25, 1964) was an American lyricist, successful and prolific between the 1920s and 1950s. His work is considered part of the Great American Songbook . His song " Swinging on a Star ", from the Bing Crosby film Going My Way , won an Academy Award for Best Song in 1944.
