Seeds of Change is Kerry Livgren's first solo album. Released in 1980 while he still was a member of Kansas, it features guest appearances by three fellow Kansas members: Steve Walsh, Phil Ehart and Robby Steinhardt. Singer Ronnie James Dio and members of LeRoux, Jethro Tull, Ambrosia, and Atlanta Rhythm Section are also featured.

If you are a major fan of Kansas and Kerry's solo career and/or Ronnie James Dio, you should not miss out on this rare album as it has some very good moments on it. It is, however, uneven and lacks a general direction.

1980: Kerry Livgren's Seeds Of Change. Members. History. Kerry Livgren, guitarist for Kansas, started to think about making a solo album in early 1979. He had written lots of material which didn't fit to Kansas' style and he considered to release it on his own album. However, as he became born-again Christian, he wanted to make a Christian album.
Dio provided vocals for the songs "Homeward", "Sitting in a Dream" and the UK single Love Is All. In 1980, Dio made vocal contributions to Kerry Livgren's Christian themed progressive rock album Seeds of Change, He sang on the tracks "Live For the King" and "The Mask of the Great Deceiver."
